The very popular Atomic Backland Carbon returns this season with updated styling with a sleek red cuff. Atomic built the Backland Carbon with three fundamentals in mind: to make the uphill easier, the downhill more enjoyable, and to keep the design as simple as possible. They achieved these three things and the result is a kick-ass touring boot that will allow you to make the most of your ski tour.

Atomic wasn't kidding when they set out to make the uphill easier. Frictionless pivot, an impressive range of motion, and lightweight construction (1103g size 26) means that the miles will fly by on the skin track. As important as walkability is, none of it matters if your feet aren't comfortable. The Backland is comfortable out of the box and only gets better with a fully heat moldable, and breathable liner that will keep your feet happy throughout your day.

This boot excels on the downhill as well. Prolite construction trims weight while maximizing power transmission to the ski while a taller cuff increases leverage in the boot. The Memory Fit 3D liner features ankle and heel pockets that ensure a snug and efficient fit.

While the Uphill and Downhill specs of the Backland grab the headlines, the beauty is in the simplicity. A new BOA system across the top of the foot ensures a wholesome and snug fit and you can even make adjustments with your gloves on. The Free/Lock 4.0 system makes transitions as easy as lifting a lever. If you want a lightweight touring/ mountaineering boot that can still drive your ski, look no further than the Atomic Backland Carbon.
